And you thought it was just an excuse for another party! Our prayers have been answered and over 2 feet of fresh powder have fallen in South Lake Tahoe in the last 24 hours with more in the forecast for this week. The skies over Tahoe Keys are opening up with blue patches as I type this update.

I went skiing today, Tuesday Jan. 6th. It was only my second day out this season. Been working way to much. Being my 14th ski season in Tahoe, I have to say the conditions at Heavenly are really good. The groomed runs have great coverage and even a little adventure into the trees was not bad. Being a resident for ten years doesn't make you a "local" by Tahoe standards. I have heard many say that you can't be considered a local until you have endured many more of our winters. I have lived in Lake Tahoe for over ten years and still one of the most amazing experiences I have had is cross country skiing with a group of friends under the light of a full moon. The air was crisp - ok it was downright cold! But we took our thermoses full of hot chocolate and peppermint scSkier Alert - It's Snowing in Tahoe!

Well it seems that all of those Pray for Snow rituals and parties that locals have been having around town lately have finally paid off! Its been snowing all morning and we are expecting about 2.5 feet of the white stuff by tomorrow morning! It is going to be a white Christmas after all!
