Tahoe can keep you busy 24 hours a day. When you need to slow your vacation pace, choose some activities that require minimal physical exertion.

Spend a day visiting one of Tahoe's many fine art galleries that feature the works of local artists, or one of Tahoe's historical museums . What could be more pleasant than spending a leisurely day discovering the beauty of Tahoe expressed in a variety of art mediums?! The Tahoe Basin is rich in Native American and Pioneer history and much of the culture and art of these groups is reflected in the works of contemporary local artists. Many galleries also sell the works of nationally recognized artists. For more complete information about any galleries or museums that interest you, call when you get to Tahoe.

You can also take a day to visit the many shops in Tahoe , where you'll be able to scout the local outlet stores for good deals and people-watch at an espresso bar or a lakeview restaurant. There are plenty of your favorite chain stores, many specialty shops and several art galleries in South Lake Tahoe. You will be able to readily purchase food and sundries, find functional and fashionable clothing to round out your vacation and home wardrobes, as well as discover memorable gifts for yourself, family and friends.

And, when you're ready for a real relaxing treat, visit a day spa or a mineral hot springs to relax and rejuvenate your body. Naps are a good thing, too!
