Soda Springs Winter Resort is located in the heart of the Northern Sierra on scenic Donner Summit. Ski, snowboard, snowshoe, sled and tube in a friendly atmosphere with an emphasis on family fun.

Soda Springs' spacious learning hill offers plenty of elbow room to learn and master new skills. Two chairlifts access 16 runs on wide-open terrain that is perfect for skiers and snowboarders of all levels. The terrain is rated 30% beginner, 50% intermediate and 20% advanced. The resort averages 400 inches of snowfall annually (576 inches last season). The summit elevation is 7,325 feet and the base elevation is 6,700 feet, making for a vertical drop of 652 feet. The longest run is one mile.

Snowboard Parks

Snowboarders and skiers will find that Soda's "Kids X" Park offers just the right size jumps and banks to catch small-sized air, while Soda's more advanced terrain park "Triple T" has larger jumps and a funbox. The "Kids X" Park is located off Lion's Head Chair, and "Triple T"is found below mid-station off Crystal Bowl Chair.

Two Tubing Tows

Two tubing tows access four flumes that offer loads of snowtubing fun for the entire family. On the Tube Express, gear up for an action-packed ride through twists and banked turns of one of four flumes. Or take it easy on the Little Dipper where children and families can enjoy slower-paced snowtubing excitement. Tubing lift tickets include the use of a snowtube. Conditions may require age or height restrictions.

Mini Snowmobiles for Kids Ages 6-12

For kids ages 6-12 hope on your own pint sized snowmobile and try out the sport of snowmobiling - kid style. Soda offers a circular track to contain our little drivers and helmets are provided. $5 for 5 laps.

Ski Instruction and Equipment Rentals

Soda Springs offers group and private lessons for skiers and snowboarders ages 7+. Choose from the First Timer's Package, the Novice Package, a Skill Improvement Lesson and a private lesson. Lessons are guaranteed. If you are not happy with your lesson, you will get another lesson for free! Soda Springs has a well-stocked ski and snowboard equipment rentals shop.

Ski With Me Children's Ski Instruction

The Ski With Me program is for children ages 4+ who want to learn to ski or snowboard. This program is ideal if your child is young or timid or you are a parent who likes being involved. There is a private one-on-one lesson with your child, or with parent and child. The Ski With Me program includes a child's all-day lift ticket, equipment rental and a one-hour private ski or snowboard lesson. Parent must have intermediate skills to participate.

Mountain Lodge and Restaurant

At the Soda Spring's Base Lodge you will find a cafeteria, spacious sundeck, a repair shop, ski instruction and equipment rentals.

Soda Springs Winter Resort is open Thanksgiving through Easter. Lift tickets include snowtubing. Children under seven and seniors 70+ can ski and snowboard for free, but snowtubing requires a ticket.

Once the lifts are running, Soda Springs Winter Resort is open for skiing and snowboarding daily between 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. and for snowtubing between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. 

Ticket Sales

Tickets go on sale daily, one-half hour prior to lift operations.

Ski Shuttle System

The Alpine Meadows Shuttle transports skiers from the main road to the mountain base. Tahoe Area Regional Transit (TART) offers bus transportation on the North Shore between 6:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. daily. Buses are equipped with ski racks. Call for routes and schedules.
