Lake Tahoe Travel and Road Conditions

Road Conditions

Before driving to Lake Tahoe, make sure to check the road and highway conditions along your route, especially during the winter.  If you're driving through California, you can call the Caltrans Highway Information Network (CHIN) at (800) 427-7623, or visit the Caltrans website to view road condition maps and live traffic videos online. Or, if you're coming through Nevada, call the Nevada Department of Transportation at (877) NV-ROADS, or visit the NDOT website for road condition updates.
